Beef & Bean Stew

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsps cooking oil
  • 500g stewing beef,cubed
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsps tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 400g kidney beans, drained
  • 2 tbsps Rich Beef & Tomato Soup

Method

Step 1

In a large pot, heat oil and fry beef until brown. Remove and set aside.

Step 2

Fry onions and garlic until soft, then mustard.

Step 3

Return beef to pot, add tomato sauce and water, and simmer for 60 minutes.

Step 4

Add kidney beans and simmer for a further 10 minutes.

Step 5

Mix the Rich Beef and Tomato Soup with a little water to form a smooth paste and stir into the stew. Simmer for 5 minutes and allow to thicken.

Step 6

Serve with rice or sadza.
