Make the burger patties at home and freeze them to take on your camping trip
Ingredients
- 450g beef mince
- 100g cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 tsps Worcestershire sauce
- 1⁄2 tsp coriander seeds
- 1⁄2 tsp salt
- pinch of freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 4 gherkins, sliced
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 hamburger rolls, halved and toasted over the fire
Method
Step 1
In a large bowl mix the mince, cheese, Worcestershire, coriander seeds, salt and pepper until combined.
Step 2
Form into 4 equal sized patties. Freeze until ready to cook on a fire. Light the fire at your campsite and leave until coals are at a medium - high temperature. Heat a solid pan with olive oil on a rack over fire.
Step 3
Add the patties and cook for about 6-7 minutes. Flip, and cook for another 6-7 minutes or until desired.
Step 4
Assemble burgers on toasted buns topped with sliced red onion, gherkins, lettuce tomato sauce and mustard.
