Cheese Straws

Delicious and so simple to make.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams plain flour
  • 25 grams grated cheese
  • 25 grams butter
  • 2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 100 mL milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 handful(s) toppings: extra grated cheese, coarse salt, sesame seeds

Method

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C 2. Mix flour, cheese, butter, baking powder, sugar & salt together with fingers. Gradually add milk to form ball of dough.

Step 2

Knead dough on floured surface. Roll dough out & cut into strips approx 12mm wide. Pinch edges of each straw & twist.

Step 3

Place on greased baking tray, brush with beaten egg & sprinkle with extra toppings if desired. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
