Ingredients
- 410g minced beef
- 2g garlic powder
- 2 x 400g chopped tinned tomatoes
- 225g tomato purée
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 9ml olive oil
- 2 1⁄2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 270g mozzarella cheese, grated
- 255g ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 35ml milk
- 1⁄2 tsp dried oregano
- 5 1⁄2 MagicTime lasagna sheets
- 10g MagicTime Parmesan cheese
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180oC.
Step 2
In a frying pan over medium heat season beef with garlic powder and oregano. Brown the meat gently and drain any excess liquid.
Step 3
In a large saucepan add tinned tomatoes, tomato purée, and oregano and simmer for 5 minutes and then set aside. Season and add a good glug of olive oil for flavour.
Step 4
In a frying pan heat olive oil and sauté garlic and onions for 5 minutes. Mix sautéed onions and garlic with meat into the tomato and herb sauce and simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Combine ricotta cheese, egg, milk, and oregano to make the white sauce.
Step 6
Layer lasagne dish with just enough meat sauce to cover the bottom. Lay three lasagne sheets on top. Cover with meat sauce, then with ricotta mixture then sprinkle with mozzarella; repeat layering, finishing with the ricotta mixture. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
Step 7
Bake in a preheated oven at 180oC for 30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
