Ingredients
- 3/4 cup(s) butter
- 3/4 cup(s) dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup(s) cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cup(s) sugar
- 1 cup(s) cake flour
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 chopped pecans
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 190°C.
Step 2
Butter a 9”x 9” square baking pan. In a double boiler over low heat, melt butter and chocolate chips together and remove from heat and cool completely.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients.
Step 4
When the chocolate and butter mixture has cooled whisk in the eggs and vanilla.
Step 5
Add the dry ingredients and whisk to combine.
Step 6
Gently stir in the chopped pecans.
Step 7
Pour chocolate batter into prepared baking pan.
Step 8
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a knife inserted into centre comes out clean.
Step 9
Cut into 24 squares or 12 larger squares.
Step 10
These brownies can be stored in an airtight container for 3 days.
