Grilled Steak Salad

  • 450g sirloin steak, sliced
  • 3 tbsps balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper
  • mixed lettuce leaves
  • 1 cup rocket
  • 1⁄2 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 100g feta cheese, cubed
  • 1 lemon, sliced


Step 1

Combine the steak, 2 tablespoons of the vinegar and 1⁄2 teaspoon of salt in a zip-lock or plastic bag; seal the bag and turn several times to coat. Set aside for 15 minutes. Preheat a grill to high. Remove the steak from the bag and discard the liquid. Grill the steak until tender, turning once, about 6 to 7 minutes. Transfer the steak to a chopping board and let stand 5 minutes to cool. Combine the mixed lettuce, rocket, tomatoes, onion and feta with remaining vinegar and some salt in a large bowl and toss to coat. Arrange salad on large or individual plates and top with steak and lemon slices.
