Homemade Tortilla Chips and Guacamole

A quick and easy classic Mexican snack!


  • 10 Tortilla Wraps
  • 6 tablespoon(s) Vegetable Oil
  • 4 Large Ripe Avocados
  • 3 Limes to Juice
  • 1 Red Onion, Finely Diced
  • 1 handful(s) Coriander, Chopped
  • 4 Green Chillies, Deseeded and Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) Tabasco


Step 1

Preheat oven to 200°C.

Step 2

To make the tortillas, brush both sides of the tortillas with the oil, then cut into triangles with scissors. Arrange in a single layer on 1 or 2 baking sheets and bake for 7-8 minutes. Remove, sprinkle with salt and set aside.

Step 3

To make the guacamole, halve and stone the avocados, then spoon the flesh into a bowl.

Step 4

Pour over the lime juice and a sprinkle of salt, then crush with a potato masher until puréed but still chunky. Add onion, coriander, chillies and Tabasco. Stir through and chill until needed.
