Mulled Cranberry Sauce

A recipe that brings flavour and colour to your Christmas dish.


  • 50 mL Port
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) fresh ginger, finely grated, plus extra(optional)
  • 1 grated zest
  • 1/2 orange, juiced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 50 grams castor sugar, plus extra( optional)
  • 375 grams cranberries


Step 1

Put the port, ginger, orange zest and juice, cinnamon stick and sugar into a pan and gently heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Add the cranberries and simmer gently for 8-10 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken.

Step 2

Add more sugar or spice to taste, then set aside and allow to cool completely before serving.
