Ingredients
- 3 tbsps butter
- 550g button mushrooms, sliced
- 3 onions, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 13⁄4 tsps oregano
- 13⁄4 tsps basil
- 11⁄4 tsps salt
- 3⁄4 tsp marjoram
- 1⁄4 tsp black pepper
- 1⁄4 tsp thyme
- 1⁄2 tsp dry mustard
- 4 eggs
- 190ml milk
- 1 pastry case, baked blind
Method
Step 1
Position the rack in the lower 1/3 of the oven and pre-heat to 180°C. Melt the butter in a large pan over medium-high heat. Sauté the mushrooms, onions and garlic.
Step 2
Stir in the seasonings and cook for 2 minutes until the liquid is evaporated. Let it cool for 5 minutes. In a medium bowl combine the eggs with the milk and beat well.
Step 3
Stir in the mushroom mixture and pour into the pastry case. Bake until the filling is puffed, set and starting to brown, approximately 35-45 minutes.
