Olive and Cheese Muffins

Muffins can be savoury too, give these a try!


  • 2 cup(s) Plain Flour
  • 2 teaspoon(s) Baking Powder
  • 50 grams butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 100 grams Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 100 grams chopped Kalamata and pimento olives, mixed
  • 1/4 red pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon(s) rosemary, chopped


Step 1

Preheat oven to 190°C.

Step 2

Sift flour with baking powder into a large bowl. Make a well in the centre of the flour mix.

Step 3

Add the melted butter, egg, milk, cheese, pepper and olives. Mix it in gently. Do not overmix.

Step 4

Prepare your muffin tins, grease or spray them. Fill them three-quarters with the muffin mix.

Step 5

Bake for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown or until the muffins spring back when lightly touched.

Step 6

Serve warm and split in half with butter.
