Ingredients
- 180g butter, chopped
- 150g dark chocolate, chopped
- 385g caster sugar
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 110g plain flour
- 2 tablespoons plain flour, plus extra
- 35g cocoa powder
- 70g dark chocolate, chopped
- 190g peanut butter
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease 2 x 20cm x 30cm brownie pans, line base and two opposite sides with baking paper.
Step 2
Melt the butter and the dark chocolate in a medium pan, stir over low heat, without boiling, until the mixture is smooth. Let it cool until just warm.
Step 3
Stir in the sugar, egg and vanilla essence, then add the sifted plain flour and cocoa powder.
Step 4
Pour the mixture into the prepared pans. Drop small spoonfuls of the peanut butter into the chocolate mixture and swirl through the chocolate with a knife.
Step 5
Bake in moderately slow oven for about 50 minutes or until firm, cool in pans. Cut into 24 pieces, dust with extra cocoa powder, (optional).
