Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup(s) Plain Flour
- 3/4 cup(s) sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) Baking Powder
- 1 tablespoon(s) oil
- 1/2 cup(s) powdered milk
- teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
- oil (for deep frying)
- 1/2 cup(s) icing sugar
- warm water, as needed
Method
Step 1
In a bowl beat egg, sugar, vanilla and oil with the help of an electric beater, whisk or spoon.
Step 2
In another bowl put flour and add baking powder, salt, powder milk. Mix well with the use of your hands.
Step 3
Add egg mixture in flour. Knead with the use of your hands.
Step 4
Keep on adding warm water until you get a dough which should not be very soft or very hard. Make 4-6 small balls out of this.
Step 5
Take a ball on your palm, flatten it a bit, insert your finger in the middle and rotate it till it makes a hole, not so small (or you can use a doughnut cutter).
Step 6
Fry the doughnuts in well heated oil (2 or 3 at a time). Be careful about the flame of your stove it should not be so large. The flame should be medium while frying.
Step 7
When doughnuts become golden in colour, remove from oil and place on grease proof paper.
Step 8
Put your icing sugar on top then sprinkle and decorate your doughnuts as desired.
