Ingredients
- 8 wooden skewers, soaked in water
- 1⁄2 pineapple, cut into 3cm chunks
- 1 tbsps soy sauce
- 12 tbsps white wine
- 1 tbsps fresh ginger, finely chopped
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp sugar
- 450g beef, cut into 3cm pieces
- 1 red pepper, cut into 3cm pieces
Method
Step 1
Place 1 cup pineapple chunks in a blender with 1 tablespoon water; purée. Combine 3 tablespoons pineapple purée with the soy sauce, wine, ginger, sesame oil and sugar in a large bowl. (Save remaining purée for sauce.) Add beef, and marinate for an 1 hour.
Step 2
Remove meat from marinade, discarding marinade. Thread the beef onto the skewers, alternating with peppers and remaining pineapple.
Step 3
Grill kebabs over medium heat for 5 minutes. Brush kebabs with sweet and sour sauce, and grill 5 minutes or until done. Serve remaining sauce on the side.
