Ingredients
- 2 onions, peeled and finely diced
- 75 mL olive oil
- 6 large garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
- 2 cans chopped tomatoes
- 1 glass(es) red wine
- 1 pinch(es) sugar
- 1 bunch of basil, chopped
Method
Step 1
Gently sauté the onions in the olive oil for 10 minutes or until opaque.
Step 2
Add the garlic, cook for 1 minute and then add the chopped tomatoes, wine, sugar and some salt and pepper. Cook over a low heat until reduced in volume by two thirds.
Step 3
Stir in the basil and check seasoning.
